Important Update from CommonSense2day Editor in Chief. Watch this Video.
CommonSense2day is an organization that strives to bring “common sense” news to its readers and subscribers. We have received feedback recently that we are one-sided as it pertains to our news promotions for the current election. In posting this video we are continuing our pursuit of promoting “common sense” news which we have viewed through a lens of the every day American and more importantly have reviewed for accuracy as best we can.
In viewing this video we have considered some of the feedback that we have received, and feel even more compelled to promote this YouTube video. It is accurate.
Part of our charter is to help in leveling the playing field of big media that can in fact shape the outcome of political elections due to their massive reach and “deep pockets”. While we do believe that the election coverage in the news has been slanted in favor of Senator Obama, that does not change our charter, we exist to bring pertinent information to everyday Americans. It is a sad commentary on the U.S. news media when you can turn to CNN, MSNBC or FOX and know exactly how each news station will discuss and spin each candidate’s prior days actions because we know their political bias in advance. While independent opinions should be welcomed and taken into account from members of the news media (if all they did was “report” then all they would be is “talking-heads”), it is the huge amount of bias and over the top bashing of not just the candidates that they report on, but other members of the media that differ or compete for ratings with their “stations”. If it wasn’t so “overt” it would be of real concern, but it’s the outlandish nature of the media news anchors in their overly biased reporting and WWF styled attacks against each other that should tell us, the American news watching public, that what they are providing is news and “entertainment”.
When the news media takes a conservative and a liberal and pits them head-to-head, while it may make for interesting news and interviews, we should all realize that behind the scenes its really “entertainment” in the pursuit of ratings to attract higher revenue from advertisers and other media markets. That’s common sense, and an important fact for all of us to understand so we can filter “important” news that affects our country.
We will continue in our pursuit to bring what we believe is pertinent information on important topics to the American people.
